Thankful Thursday.

July 2nd, 2009

It doesn’t look like I’ll be finding June’s blog entries… and you know what? That’s okay. I’m moving on and pushing forward. Losing a few random posts is definitely not the end of the world, nor something I’ve never dealt with before.

I’m feeling significantly better today. Still a bit queasy and off, but oh so healthy and alive. Is it weird that I’m often grateful for illness? Because once I recover and feel better, I find I have so much more gratitude for my life and health. I wrote an entry a few weeks ago (yes, it’s one of the lost blogs) about my numerous blood disorders, and I remember I had such difficulty writing it. I felt like I was complaining. I was sure I sounded selfish… because truly, I’m blessed.

I have a body that can walk (and sometimes run!), lift, stretch, and breathe. My body does so much work for me. It never gives up, never lets me down. Sure, it has its flaws… but look at me, I’m still alive. I guess after a week of being confined to my bed, I’m feeling grateful today.

Anyway, a good friend of mine is flying in from Canada tomorrow (well, technically Utah, but whatever). I haven’t seen Dalia since last March, so I’m beyond thrilled for her visit. It’s funny. She saw my temporary home of the Bay Area and now she’ll be seeing my childhood home of Orange County.

While I’m definitely not as proud as Southern CA as I am of Northern CA, I’m still excited to share it with her. It’ll also be fun to bring a Canadian along for my Independence Day celebrations! :P

Have a beautiful day everyone!

The Joys of Moving.

July 1st, 2009

Well, it’s been quite a week. As countless folk have noticed, my online presence has been a bit of mess. Basically, I moved hosts. The old company I was previously under was having issues, so the incredible Kya let me move on over to her place on the web.

So, I moved. The transfer in itself was simple (thanks to the help of Hannah), but Wordpress made the whole experience rather ridiculous. I’m not really sure what went wrong, as Hannah has been the one working behind the scenes, but it caused me to lose all of my old entries and comments. In result, we’ve spent the last week manually reposting whatever old entries we could find through old files. (The many comments are lost forever. *sobs*) Sounds fun, right? XD

While I would’ve loved to spend a full day getting everything back up and looking pretty, I couldn’t. I had relatives in town over the weekend, a book launch party for Teresa Burrell, an overnight stay in Long Beach, and now I’m been battling yet another flu. In result, everything has been rather messy.

Anyway, the point of this muttering blog is to say I’m not going anywhere. I’m just trying to get my head back on straight and get organized. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to find all of June’s entries, but it’s not looking promising. Also, I pray the annoying white text doesn’t bug everyone as much as it bugs me. :( That’s another kink we’re trying to straighten out.

Alright. Back to falling in and out of sleep in attempt to regain some health!

My Bad.

April 17th, 2009

Please ignore the mess. I kind of made a boo boo and hurt a few files on my website. Things will be looking normal and beautiful again soon. I promise! Hopefully!

In the mean time, visit Hannah as she’s an angel and heatherezell.com would be a DISASTER if it weren’t for her.

Now I shall go return to enjoying the last two days of my time in Colorado. Watch out world, I have a camera and I”m not afraid to use it!
